Liverpool's Chances
Well, it must have been back in the 80's when you could say Liverpool were last relevant. Let's just be real here, they cannot be considered a WORLD POWER in the same way that United, Chelsea and others. Apart from the anomaly that was that CL victory and being a finalist, they have not CONSISTENTLY been with the big boys. Now though, with some important purchases, Liverpool may now be ready to get back in the CL and knock on the door of the Premiership.
Their main star is without doubt, Hannibal Suarez. The issue last season was, apart from trying to eat people, he was doing TOO MUCH ON HIS OWN. It was the same issue with Balotelli at Milan which is still occurring. Now though, if they can keep Sturridge fit as well as Coutinho and bringing in Moses, then Liverpool can really do something.
I have said it before, and you know what, I'LL SAY IT AGAIN. This is going to be the most open title race in history. With the exit of Ferguson and Mourinho only COMING BACK, things are up for grabs. There is no reason why Liverpool should not only focus on fourth but look beyond it. I am really excitied and hoping Moses make a great impact and stays out of injury. The main thing is keeping the key men fit but ALSO, with Toure and Sakho coming into the defence which has needed work, Rodgers has a nice little team around him.
Toure talked about COMPETITION for places which is the cornerstone of any great team. If players are fighting for their role without EXPECTING their names on the teamsheet, then it raises their edge. It is now up to Rodgers to build a strong and unified team....and put a cage around Suarez's mouth.
