England are 10-15 years Behind the Opposition...and sorry Hodgson, LINEKER IS RIGHT

Watching the England-Ukraine match was actually quite painful. The last time I saw a match of that quality was probably...2010, when England played against Algeria in the group stages. There is just no denying the fact that England are way behind, and they truly are on the same level as Montenegro and Ukraine, as the draws have shown. And yes, Lineker is RIGHT

I was following the tweets of Lineker as I watched the match, and I can't believe the hoopla over what he said. Apart from being completely right, surely one is allowed to tweet about his opinion on a game. I think what is worse is how Hodgson can even begin to defend the PERFORMANCE. Forget the result, it's just how badly England played against a Ukraine team that only had ONE good player....who in fact was the most exciting player on that pitch.

England cannot seriously go to a World Cup in this state. I was just thinking that even with Rooney, Welbeck and co in the team, they would get BEAT UP by Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Spain and so forth. Those teams and many others are just playing on a WHOLE OTHER level from England. The Three Lions are at least ten to fifteen years behind the top players, and I would suggest them not even bothering to turn up if this is how they will represent themselves.

I said it from way back that 'Arry Redknapp should have been the coach. Hodgson does not have that spark or excitement in his tactics that Redknapp has. People will throw all this whole experience mumbo-jumbo at me, but I don't buy it. How much experience did Venables have with international teams when he took England to the semis in 96 playing good football?

Yes, there is a dearth of talent in England and they will need a decade to properly compete in terms of talent, but for now, Hodgson is NOT the man. The best thing that could happen to England, as bad as it may seem, is them not qualifying. That will lead to Hodgson having to leave and England being forced to rethink how they approach the way the team is run, and who is picked.

Makes one wonder....Sven wasn't so bad, was he?
