Marco Reus is Germany's Most Important Player....that's right I JUST SAID THAT

Yes, I know about Ozil and I know about Lahm as well as Schweinsteiger...I get that. But I need you to understand what it means to WIN FOOTBALL MATCHES. From defence to attack. The importance of breaking down hard defences and really unlocking tight matches.

Enter....MARCO REUS.

He isn't a world name. We all know about the hoopla that surrounded Ozil when he went to Arsenal. We are seeing the great things he is doing for the Gooners. But there is that vital aspect missing from Ozil'a game....goals. He know that, and he realizes that is what will get him to that next level. BUT, there is another aspect of his game which needs a bit of work...and that is really fearlessly RUNNING AT A DEFENCE. Reus has both of these qualities and is only going to get better.

As Dortmund were battering Reus's old club on the weekend, I was amazed by the qualities this guy had. His ability to find spaces, and run straight into those narrow gaps just shows this child's strengths. He really was the key component that was getting Dortmund ticking, and as I already commented...if Goetze had not been a Judas, and was on the pitch...the match would have been over by half-time.

So the question really is how he fits into Loew's team. Do you put him as an attacking midfielder? Supporting striker? Nope. I feel that he should be given that free role. His runs, and his knowledge of the pitch will make him perfect for that. I really feel, that if Loew and Klopp work on him getting better, being more fearless and developing his skills at getting past players...then I think he can be Germany's best player. Right now, he is under the radar. Nobody talks of him with regards to world football. But this guy IS the real deal, and he is YOUNG. So I pray he remains with the best coach in Klopp, and just continues to improve. 2014 may be too soon....but I know that from the way he plays, Reus is ready to take up that mantle and deliver the gold trophy to Germany.
