Okay, so the internationals are about to start now, and Mr. Loew has come out to say that Lahm will not be playing in the midfield as he has done with Bayern so far. Yes, that is our Bart Simpson who is in the holding hole in midfield, and has been called the most intelligent player. Hmm....don't really know how Pep can call him that. Has he ever coached Pirlo? Did he ever coach Ronaldinho? Romario had to be one of the smartest players I ever saw. Then there's also of course, Okocha. Intelligence is VERY tangible...very. But let me say this in case none of y'all hear clearly.....

For me, Lahm is the best wing back in the world. End of discussion. I have a soft spot for my boy Maicon. But if we are to combine DEFENDING and ATTACKING as well as PASSING...nobody is better than Bart. He was INTEGRAL to Bayern circumcising all that came before them last season. I particularly remember the second leg in the Nou Camp when Lahm was cutting open Barcelona like silk in the first half. It was truly a beautiful sight to behold.
I think Loew appreciates what Pep has done with his golden boy, but he knows if Germany are to stand a chance of FINALLY living up to that favorites tag that is getting very old, players must be played in their positions. I don't want to even HEAR about of even get a WHIFF of any rotation or experimentation. Leave that for a match away at Hamburg. At the World Cup, EVERY SINGLE MATCH IS A FINAL.
But I hope Bayern get their players back which will allow Lahm to slot back to his position. The longer he stays in that holding role, the more he may forget about what it feels like to be a wing back. Let me remind you, these are two very different positions. VERY different. Yes, Lahm is damn talented and is playing midfield very well....but when he runs up and down that wing and OWNS that channel....that's just where the kid Simpson belongs.
