Soccer Profile - What Toni Kroos can do for German Football....in Brazil 2014
I am going to have to say that Toni has to be the one of the most improved players in recent years. Iniesta still holds that title, but Kroos right now has shown INCREDIBLE improvement from before. His eye for the pass, control, ability to find space to receive the ball and a shooting technique that I like very much, make him ALMOST the complete midfielder. With all of these tools, he really has to win himself that starting spot right next to Bastian, possibly outing Khedira. That's just my call. Kroos is playing a higher level of football right now than Sami.
I remember him being recommended to me by a user on the Hut. I used to watch him, and it seemed like he had potential, but was very limited. There just was not a lot to his game apart from the basic pass. But right now, Pep has a SERIOUS dilemma. With Thiago and Mario to come back, can he really bench Kroos who is INTEGRAL to his passing philosophy?
NO.
Kroos just needs one aspect of his game to go right till people can really take notice. As I said, he has one of the best shooting techniques that I have seen today. The way he strikes the ball and how CLEAN he executes it should be watched closely. Each time he shoots, it is ALWAYS close. Never over the bar or miles wide, but always inches. If those inches turn into goals, then Bayern will be even more unstoppable. BUT, far more importantly, that may be the extra mile that Germany need to take that golden accolade in Brazil next year.
Germany are struggling for that goal-getter. Trust has been put on Klose over Gomez, which I don't agree, but that's Loew's decision. I am not sure whether Klose still has it in him to get that crucial goal. But, if a midfielder can collect a ball and fire home a top-corner smacker, that could be what Germany need. In a tight match, Klose may be marked and a good defence will not allow Reus or Goetze to maraud inside the box. So it is left to Kroos as Germany's best shooter to finally turn those close chances into goals. THAT is what he needs to work on. Once he can perfect that, Germany will be just that crucial step closer to finally winning the trophy we all know that this team deserves.
But.....GOMEZ OVER KLOSE.
Just my five cents.
