Jesus Navas and City OBLITERATE Spurs, who still can't figure out Life without BALE

We all know how good City are at home, one of the REAL fortresses in club football...but DAMN, who would have thought they would have scored SIX smacks against the supposed best defence in the league? With the help of Navas, City have shown that they are still in this crazy title race and as for my man AVB...it's deja bloody vu again for his Spurs team and the insistence of his system that DOES NOT WORK.

Just like always, Aguero was the star again. Whenever City set out to destroy, their main killer is there to supply the kills. Not only did he score two goals, but it was his show of strength and control with the ball that caused too many problems for Spurs. Every time he was faced one-on-one against a Spurs defender, you just sat back and expected Aguero to go past and rage down towards the penalty box. The boy Sergio is showing that Argentina are NOT just a one-man team. Sabella must know that he will be just as much a valuable asset to Argentina as he hopes Messi will be.
Aguero has always been a player that I have liked and he has shown why he is one of the most dangerous attacking players in the WORLD. Yes, you read that right. Not many players are more dangerous than him on the ball. Extremely difficult player to get the ball off.
But I can't leave out Negredo and Navas who had excellent games. Negredo showed some great attacking play, holding up the ball, getting his goal and just showing a lot more to his attacking game than Dzeko. For Navas, the boy knows how to hustle that wing. Two clean goals, but it was the way he ran that wing and put in great balls into the box that was great to see. If you have a GREAT winger that can cross WELL and can dribble, that is an incredible tool to have and Pellegrini will need that weapon for the entire season.

Mister Costel Pantilimon also put in a good performance. It's not like Spurs were utterly useless. They had some good chances, but Costel was there to deny them even getting a consolation goal. He came out and dealt with balls and the easy ones he made it look comfortable. Some few odd punches from corners but at the end of the day, Joseph Hart will find it hard to get back in the team. Based on merit, Costel deserves to be the number one keeper and if he keeps being solid, Hart might have to just be happy playing in FA Cup games. Sorry, tis the way of football. You PLAY, you STAY.

As for Spurs, they were not bad. They made some defensive mistakes but showed some good stuff in the first half and later in the second. They just came up against a City team who really brought their TOP football game to play. But it was the same old tactics that have not yielded a team showing any true spark, relying mostly on penalties to win their football matches.
For a man who has been training with the reserves and most thought would be done...Adebayor managed to do a lot more with less time than Soldado. Along with Lennon, they were the only two true performers for Spurs. Whilst the other players seemed happy to just go through the very stale AVB system, at least Lennon tried to take the game to City with one delicious leg twister on Clichy.
Adebayor looked more lively than Soldado and had not lost his touch. Spurs just seemed more dangerous with him in attack with the way he moved and linked up play whilst running into spaces. He should have scored his chance, but Costel came up strong to say "no way, today, Ade!".

I am not sure if City can win the league. Pellegrini knows what is needed for them to essentially take it. If they can play as well AWAY as they do at HOME, and win those games, then yes, they should win it. I'm just not convinced without Kompany at the back and with more direct teams that they will be able to do so. As for Spurs, as long as AVB insists with playing Soldado as a lone striker, they will languish in nowhere land. IT DOES NOT WORK. He needs to get two strikers and make the team more dynamic, lead by the very talented Lennon. Problem is AVB is very stubborn and will rarely admit when he is wrong. I have a lot more hope in City taking home the title with some changes to their strategy than I do with Spurs who need A LOT more work.
