UNLEASH THE GIO
If ever there was a time for Giovinco to be released from his shackles....now would be that time. Now, Juventus need a bolt of energy in their team. NOW, Juventus must wake up and realize that they are staring at the grim face of elimination. Conte cannot afford to go with the tried and trusted. He cannot afford to play the same game of bringing in Gio to add some spark. He has to start and must lead the line alongside Tevez.
The other options that Juventus have are Llorente and Quagliarella. Fabio is a very good player, but he does not lack the sharpness that Juventus will need against Madrid. It also doesn't help that he does not play many matches, so it will be hard for him to play to his optimum from the start. As far as the tall blonde striker from Spain is concerned, he got that goal in Madrid but did not do too much to impress me. He is far too slow and awkward to really be what Juventus need.
I just find it hard, with Vucinic still injured, for Conte not to turn to Giovinco to start. Because friends, that is the key word here.....START. Juventus HAVE to get an early goal. They have to start off brightly and quickly and put the Madrid backline under early pressure. To do this, they need a player who can take the defence on and constantly run at them and draw mistakes out of them. The only player that can do that alongside Tevez is Giovinco. If Conte has done his homework, he will know that Madrid's weak point is their defence. It is there to be exploited, but you need the PLAYER to exploit it. That player is Gio....
Giovinco can go on to be one of Italy's best ever players. What I see is a player who can dribble, is fast, direct...and is SHORT. For anyone who has played football will attest that the most difficult players to defend are short players. Their low center of gravity is a NIGHTMARE to defend against and their ability to turn quickly is very hard to oppose.
That is what Giovinco can be and more, a player that Italy has NEVER had. That is why I want to see him in the big games so that he can perhaps be the unlikely star of Brazil next summer.
