Allegri Survives Again, as Milan THUG IT THROUGH Against A Damn Good Ajax team

So I suppose that it is true....that teams player better when they are a man down, and the team with the advantage find it hard to break them down. Milan looked to be heading out when Ajax had the better chances early in the game, but just as the drama at Milan unfolds it was no surprise more continued with Montolivo getting sent off....Ajax were expected to get that goal, but somehow...someway, Allegri squeezed his Milan boys through and lives to fight another day...JUST.

As I expected, Ajax started the game well and after hitting the post, it was only a matter of time before Milan conceded. Then when the game changed and Montolivo was stupidly sent off for a dumb tackle, that is where it all turned for Ajax.
The problem with Ajax was simple, they are a very impressive passing team....but their strength is their hindrance. With too much reliance on that extra pass, they were unable to get that cutting edge to punish the depleted Milan team. Allegri was now allowed to enforce the only thing he is good for...ALL IN DEFENCE. Milan seemed to be more structured and disciplined as a whole with ten men than they were with eleven. It was a cheap excuse for Allegri to make Milan DEFEND IN THEIR OWN COMPOUND. Ajax just could not find a way through, and had some close shaves. Ultimately, a lack of an individual star to beat a few men and open up the defence, Milan were able to hold down the fort with some important saved made by Abbiati. But don't think for a second that this exonerates Allegri.

There are still far too many problems in this team, and the rate at which you see Allegri jumping up and down and screaming like a hyperactive hyena has one worried. This is the GREAT Milan, why is it so hard to motivate them? Allegri is having to do far too much shouting which leads one to believe that this is a very faulty machine that has not been fully operational for MONTHS.
At the end of the day, they are the only Italian team through and Allegri will point to that. Being second though, I would rather put money on a goat flying to the sun than Milan advancing past the second round.
