Are Arsenal About to Implode after the Manchester Lubrication?
Damn. Shit. Dang. Lord. Wow. WHAT THE HELL THAT HAPPENED?! Were these not supposed to be the title contenders? A team that had now developed some grit to their game? In the past three matches, we have seen the Arsenal that everyone thought had gone...but I KNEW it would rear its ugly head. I now fear Arsenal's season will slowly spiral into darkness over the next few weeks.
I feared for Arsenal in this match, ESPECIALLY when they gave up their last Champions League match and finished second. After City had beaten Bayern, I just feared the worst. I predicted a win...but I NEVER saw this coming. Arsenal are kids, they are not men. They are a team without character. Sure, they beat Liverpool...but Liverpool are not City. THIS was a match to show their mettle and strength, and they completely and utterly failed, with strangely, Walcott being the only positive to come from the match.
This is a heavy beatdown, a total destruction and a loss that can DESTROY all confidence within a team. The only way that Arsenal can recover is by responding IMMEDIATELY. The longer this loss lingers, the worse it can be. I mean, Spurs have bounced back well but this is different...Spurs were never title contenders. This was supposed to show that Arsenal were serious. Fine, you can lose but to concede SIX? Which could have been so much more? That's just completely and utterly unacceptable. I know it's harsh to say and sounds pessimistic, but Arsenal's season is done. They will NOT win the league and this could be that match that signalled where everything just went wrong for them.
Chelsea are up next, and if Arsenal lose that, they finally lose their place at the top and they are back to having to chase for the title. I think once that happens, they will continue to fade. Their only hope is by being continually consistent beating the other teams and City and Chelsea dropping points they ought not to. There is still hope, but....this was NOT a good result. In fact......THIS WAS JUST DAMN RIGHT DISGUSTING! SIX?!!!!!
