Conte Heads into the Turkish Fotress for D-Day with Juventus against Galatasaray
Juventus head into the mad fortress tonight knowing that "all they need" is a draw to go through. Galatasaray know that a win is the only thing that will take them to the next stage, and it's setup PERFECTLY for them. Conte knows of the crazy atmosphere in Turkey were many teams have caved in under the furnace. Without Pirlo, Conte will need to use all his tactical acumen to see his boys over the line.
Juventus will be missing their jewel, Pirlo. Without his incredible passing and ability to control the vibe of a game, this is where Pogba and Vidal will need to step up. Perhaps, it provides a chance for Galatasaray to try and take over that midfield, and try and bully Vidal and Pogba off the ball.
Conte has said that they can cope without Pirlo, and they should be able to.They have enough juice in that team to be able to get it done, as well as goalscorers who can use their individuality to turn the game around.
Llorente will be very important again in match like this. His ability to hold up the ball and set off balls for Asamoah and Pogba making runs into the box will be very important. Conte must anticipate Galatasaray leaving spaces, especially with Eboue rampaging down. Pogba drifting out into the wing area and NOT crossing, but beating his man and pulling a dangerous ball across will be a very useful tactic to employ in this match.
Drogba may be slowly gathering dust, and the legs creaking....but talent is talent and CANNOT be denied. He will be a threat that Juventus will need to be aware of. With him on the pitch, ANYTHING is possible. He is very capable of latching onto that cross that defenders have missed by an inch, or creating space for himself with the ability to fire home a cracker.
Galatasaray will need their role players to really stand up and have a profound effect on the game. So this means Sneijder and Yilmaz HAVE to get involved and really affect the game in a positive way and nullify Pogba and Vidal.
Mancini could really be a hero to the Turkish supporters if he can somehow do the incredible and beat Juventus. It's VERY possible, and without Pirlo, there is an opportunity. The crowd has to be used and he MUST not allow Juventus to start gather chances and get their flow in the game. If that happens, and he allows the star players of Juventus to really feel at home....then he can write this one off and give his blessing for Juventus in the next round.
