Martinez and Everton make HUGE statement with a Great Performance in Draw against Arsenal

I don't think anyone would have believed Everton would have put out such a show like that against Arsenal. Being at the Emirates, I ASSUMED that Arsenal would have controlled the game, restricting Everton to counters....but it was the reverse and this was match that was under Everton's grip...and one that they should have won.

The best player on the pitch was a dude called Ross Barkley. I heard a bit about him, but when I actually saw what he was about to do, his intelligence on the ball and footballing prowess was quite amazing to watch. We all thought it would be Ramsey being the one to shine, but Barkley gave Aaron a footballing lesson. He was much better on the ball and was really facilitating most of Everton's counters as well as holding the midfield well and keeping the ball a lot better than the Arsenal players.

Lukaku continues to impress. Although it was the wonder kid from Spain that got the amazing winner, Lukaku's play throughout the ENTIRE match was an example to any striker as to how to play the position.
  His runs, touches, and presence that kept Mertesacker and Laurent busy had me applauding what this young man is doing. He is already showing the world of his talents and must be overjoyed in making the decision to join Everton on loan rather than be rotated in the Chelsea striker circus.


Who knows what Everton can do this season. So far, they have overachieved. Most likely, they will fall off and those draws will mount up as well as losses. I just think, if they can continue to perform like they did against Arsenal and get a winning mindset, then they are title contenders in this crazy Premiership season. For me, they are one of the best teams in the Premiership right now. The football they are playing is solid with a good attacking flow to it. Everyone seems to be pulling in the same direction and Roberto has givne them a very strong identity. Martinez must realize the great opportunity they have to chase the ultimate crown, and really try and go for it and secretly and quietly keep up the pace and perhaps......
