Schweinsteiger Finally About to Get Back to Action for Bayern
Damn, he's been out for a looooong time. But finally, Bastian has kicked a ball for the first time since he played against Hoffenheim last year. It also seems so far so good as he took part in training yesterday with the first team and there is a chance that he may feature for Bayern in their next league game against Moenchengladbach. So, have Bayern really missed Schweinsteiger?
The League Table would say NO, they have not. Bayern are seven points clear, and don't look like they are in any danger whatsoever. They are playing incredible football and the newcomers in Goetze and Thiago are OWNING that midfield. But, there is that matter of the Champions League and them going up against much stronger midfielders. THAT is where the quality of Schweinsteiger will be needed.
He brings a level of composure and assuredness to the midfield that the younger cats don't have yet. Against Madrid, PSG, Barcelona...I would rather have Bastian in that midfield than the younger guys. When the going gets tough, and the opposition starts to press like MAD, you NEED a Schweinsteiger in there who knows how to keep hold of the ball and to make the right pass.
With him coming back, it's only going to make the team stronger. The Bundesliga is done and they should clinch that German cup. The real challenge will be whether they can make history for themselves and RETAIN the Champions League trophy. The key to doing that is having ALL YOUR BEST WEAPONS AT YOUR DISPOSAL.
