MADRID ESCAPE AFTER REUS DELIVERS A SUPERSTAR PERFORMANCE, GIVE IT UP FOR KLOPP'S BOYS!!!

Madrid were in the lead, with a mighty lead. Three GOALS UP, and knowing a single goal would pretty much seal it. But it's that defense. Ancelotti has got to realize that if teams can get past their midfield, and they don't keep possession of the ball and they are going down on Pepe and Ramos..THAT IS A PROBLEM.

I began to watch the game from when Madrid had a penalty. And I was getting ready to turn it off once Di Maria put the penalty away. Because for Dortmund to score FIVE after such an early bodysmack, that's just WAY too much to ask.

Di Maria actually slipped, but it was a very good stop from Weidenfeller, and from that point, Dortmund had that belief that maybe this would be like Malaga from last year, where the fates would fall in their favor.

Then it was time for a star to rise. This was where Bale was needed to prove why so much was paid for him. But it was the young German who rose to the occasion. He grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck, and was just a total tyrant that bullied Madrid.

The speed, the technique and the attacking drive was something that permeated through Dortmund that started with him. He got the two goals in the FIRST HALF, and could easily have gotten his hat-trick. But where was Lewandowski? Where was Mkhitaryan? It was far too much to ask a MIDFIELDER to score all THREE goals for the team. He simply did not have the help that he deserved.

I'll admit, if Cristiano was playing, he may have actually found a way to score. There were a few times Madrid had counters, because Dortmund threw so many players forward, but with Bale out on the wing and no real speed coming through the middle, Madrid found it hard to get that goal. But still, Dortmund defended VERY well and restricted any counters, so I doubt Cristiano would have gotten the service he needed to actually score.

Bravo to Klopp and bravo to his players. They put out a great performance and made the match extremely entertaining to watch. At the end of the day, IF Klopp had all his players and all his stars, they would have gotten a few goals at Madrid and would have ended up beating Madrid again. Simple as that. If Reus is the ONLY guy stepping up, then that is not enough to go through. As for Madrid, they can still win it, but why oh WHY does VARANE NOT PLAY IN THE CENTER OF DEFENSE??!!!
