World Cup 2014 - THE END OF AN ERA FOR SPAIN....AND SORRY, IT WASN'T SWELL

It had to end sometime. How long could one team go on playing the SAME EXACT BLOODY WAY and not get found out. Seeds were planted by Heynckes, and other teams gladly sowed them. These two matches, just like the Bayern-Real and Bayern-Barcelona fully EXPOSED the absurdity, stupidity and anti-football nature of this tactic. Holland bent Spain over, and Chile delivered the final PUSH. DEMOLITION.

You are two down, and you need to WIN the game. You need to at least get back in the match. Why in the blue hells do you pass the ball about? Chile were only interested in going forward and they were WINNING. But Spain would have a counter and Silva and Iniesta would be looking FIRST to who they can pass to, rather than running with the ball to unleash a shot.

The ugly side and crap side of this strategy and philosophy was shown. The inability to lead a fightback from two goals down is what makes this tactic flawed. Spain just don't know how to CHASE a game or get something from a match that they don't have any control over. That for me, is unacceptable and makes every football fan GLAD that this team is OUT, OUT AND AWAY!!!

What does the future hold for this tactic? This philosophy that somehow "won" three trophies? I hope that Spain can realize that this was a tactic specifically suited to certain players and also, in an era where there were no superstars like Zidane and Ronaldo to shut it down. To continue with it, in arrogance, will lead to more exposure because teams have figured out how to defend it as well as how to ATTACK it. Enough is enough...end it!

Casillas cannot be made to be the culprit of Spain's exit. Yes, he made some HOWLERS upon howling heavens. But the WHOLE Spanish team must just take responsibility for not being able to individually come out of their shells, and try and INFLUENCE the game. By being such slaves to the tactic and system, that is where their real failure lies. Spain HAD to win, by any cost. That means stepping out of the comfort zone and trying things that they wouldn't normally. In the end, they played it safe, kept with the tried and trusted....and rightfully, they got SMASHED UP.

Adios amigos...it was NOT swell. But hats off to the trophies won....
