World Cup Report - Let's all Blame Casillas....how about the Entire Spanish team?

Sometimes it is right to have a scapegoat. Its great. Sometimes, its the guy who missed OPEN goals (Yakubu) or the coach who came with nonsense tactics. Or the defense that forgot the ABC of defending. There are times where there is a CONCRETE reason why your team failed. Iker Jeremiah Casillas is NOT the reason Spain got circumcized. Yes, he made a few errors....but did we all decide to forget the three good saves he made?

This should have been A LOT more. If it comes down to goal difference and Spain can unleash their wrath on Australia, the same people wanting to hang Iker will then be thanking him. It COULD have been a massacre of epic proportions. That defeat was a result of Spanish arrogance, ineptitude and a defense who put forth a JOKE of a display.

Casillas is in my opinion still one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He hasn't lost the ability to save one-on-ones and has not done away with hiw razor sharp reflexes and reactions. What is happening as age creeps in, are a few mistakes and lapses in concentration. It happens. Nobody is perfect, and people must give Casillas the benefit of the doubt. Without him, Spain are not winning three trophies in a row and THAT is a cold hard FACT. Sometimes, we all get impaled and just need to take it like men and move on.

But there needs to be an official Spanish inquisition. An inquest into that defense, whether Xavi deserves to play ahead of Fabregas and if Costa are Blondie ought to be ahead of David Villa. These are the primary objectives, not blaming Casillas for getting THOROUGHLY outplayed.
