Can Van Gaal REALLY take United back to the top...in ONE Season?

Yes, I heard about the damn seven goals. But there is a difference between a pre-season game against LA Galaxy and THE WORLD CUP SEMI-FINAL AGAINST BRAZIL. Big difference. Just keeping that in mind, it's a good start and can only help to try and extinguish the Moyes shadow of darkness.

Van Gaal isn't taking charge of a team with talent all around. Rivaldo and Kluivert were in another lifezone in comparison to Rooney and Van Persie. He's also taking over a team that have had their egos bruised and lost the killer edge. So to now think that Louis is going to take United back to the land of cheddar cheese is being stupid.

But the Premiership has changed. It's not like the Ferguson era where they dominated. Unlike the Liga or Bundesliga, the Premiership will be open. City and Chelsea are very strong, but my seventh sense is not convinced they will easily dominate. There is a chance for Van Gaal to mount a title challenge if it all falls to place.

Van Gaal needs to sort out that defense. That rearguard were leaking goals like a tree in the atlantic ocean. It means getting better defenders to replace Rio and and Vidic. As for that midfield, there has to be a new Keane. A dominant force that can control the game and feed the ball to Kagawa or Mata to create.

There is the Rooney and Persie issue, two international flops. Persie perhaps is less of a flop, but both for me are not top of my list of strikers. But if Van Gaal can get them working together and firing, that might lead them to the title.

Should be fun. With Van Gaal, a very good coach, in the Premiership, things might get even more open. But ha, I just had a thought...what if he does WORSE than Moyes??
