World Cup - America Need To Finally EMBRACE Football and Make an Impact in 2018 after CLOSE Loss to Belgium

Americaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa F YEAH!!!! And you know what, these guys were pretty close to going through. That chance at the end....WAS ONSIDE...and IF it had gone in....and it was called offside. Then all those chances in extra-time after Julian Green's great finish, but in the end, the quality of Belgium as well as ALL their chances that got stopped by one man, must be commended and they were deserved winners.

I think the Americans have witnessed just how special this sport can be, nerve-racking, tense and absorbing. What they must see is potential. The very potential to be a serious force in the World's most beloved sport. With the excitement that this match brought and even going back to those matches against Ghana and Portugal, the Americans would be wise to invest in this sport, get more kids involved playing it, and actually try and compete properly.

My bro made a good point, and he talked about how the Americans always found themselves in good positions but because of a lack of footballing quality, they could not capitalize. You look at all those chances they had AFTER the Green equalizer, and all you needed was someone with some quality who could compose himself and slot the ball home, just like De Bruyne and Lukaku did. These things are vital. You CANNOT win the World Cup without having some footballing quality, it's impossible. You can maybe go far, but luck will only get you to a point..football is football and this is a highly-skilled game.

The real question is whether or not the Americans will take this sport on. It would be stupid for it to be as important or big as the NBA or NFL anytime soon, but you look at the success of the women, you see how this has been THE best performance by an American team ever, and there is hope. There's hope for America to enter into the tournament and actually be a threat. Because this sport is only getting bigger (for better AND for much worse) and the Americans know this. And how cool would it be for the USA to actually legitimately call themselves....WORLD CHAMPIONS?
