The Final Three For the Ballon (D'OR) Crap has been Released, and it Sucks

I did not think they would ACTUALLY do it. In a World Cup year, they would actually not fill the final three with at LEAST two Germans. But the biggest insult is how Messi has somehow found his way on this list. A player who did not have a great season where Barcelona won NOTHING, and we all know how he started the World Cup...and how he ended it. We are still trying to find out where he left to after the quarter-finals.

As much as I hate this dude to my left, he had a good year. Looking at the year as a whole, he beasted for Real as far as goalscoring went, but he had a pretty horrendous World Cup. You can blame injury or whatever, but THAT is why I would not put him in that final three. His World Cup performance was pretty much non-existent which DID include the rarity of him hitting a ONE-MAN wall.

But fine, him in there at least makes more sense than having Messi in there. At least Cristiano won SOMETHING last season and contributed to that win.

If FIFA is thick enough to only give me this three, I'd tell them to go screw themselves first, then I'd pick Neuer.

Why?

He has a World Cup medal. He had a great year. 2014 was where he finally announced to the world officially that he is without doubt the number one goalkeeper in the world. That is enough for him to win it.

But let's be analytical here. Neuer in 2014 collected a league medal, domestic cup medal, Champions League semi-finalist and World Cup medal. That is an INCREDIBLE achievement. Neither Messi nor Cristiano actually come close to having those honours in that year. So, for Neuer to NOT win will again prove what I have been saying, that modern football has been hijacked and I can't sign up for this. This is NOT what football is about. It was NEVER to be a media-fuelled myth of there being this rivalry that is a fallacy. It was about the best. Bart Simpson is actually THE best player of last year with Robben a close second, and for neither to be on that final list is actually quite sickening.

Remember who said it. You are witnessing football going down an ugly path, and the "journalists" and idiots who call themselves football fans are supporting this nonsense. That is what is the most heartbreaking. That supposed fans would buy into this, because it's the "fad." The Messi and Cristiano "rivalry" is a fad that people want to weigh into. But all I ask is take a few steps back, take your ball out of your living room and play outside. Then remind yourself what is means to be about football and the very DEFINITION of what it means to be an elite player at this sport. Forget records, statistics and just focus on what we love....FOOTBALL.

Football is being hijacked and I can't let this continue.
