The plan and the idea was for Dortmund and perhaps Leverkusen to put pressure on Bayern and make this a closer Bundesliga. But with Lewandowski coming in, Robben Hood and Goetze getting better along with Muller being a problem, it's too much talent for any Bundesliga team to withstand. EVEN if Bayern have a bad day, they have too many good players to score when they want to. I look at the matches and I'm just waiting for Bayern to score, as it's just an eventuality.
This now means that Bayern have not had to hit third of fourth g. It's almost as if they can beat these cats in their sleep. But Madrid, Chelsea and PSG are a whole different quality and how will Bayern raise their game or know how to when they have not been required to?
It was the case when Bayern played Madrid and got BLOWN to bits. For the two top teams from Spain and Germany, everyone expected a close match. I was expecting a close tactical game with just one or two goals in it. But that second leg IN Bayern's backyard was a counter-attacking clinic that Pep had no answer to. You can point to the two goals from free-kicks, but Real should have scored a lot more as Ancelotti had Pep's number and totally bared his booty for all to see. And it really does not help when you're not used to getting tested. The minds of the players just aren't as sharp when it's time to be tested.
Talent is talent, and Bayern should be in the final four. But will I put money on them against a meaner and stronger Chelsea? The thugged out gladiators of Atletico? Or the fastest and most potent attack in Real? I just don't know. The Bundesliga teams won't give my bald Spaniard sleepless nights but when he's required to tactically change things and is up against quality players and the best coaches in the world, it awaits to be seen if he can learn from last year.
