Finally, with no Balotelli, Rodgers Must take Blame

That was always the excuse. The easy explanation for Liverpool's crap displays. Just blame it on Balotelli, the EASY target. But the reality which Liverpool fans refused to see was how Rodgers has been exposed. He's a good coach, but this season has shown he is not THAT good.

People focus on Balotelli, but what about Markovic, Can and Lovren? What about the fact Rodgers has not learned how to teach defensive positioning? And that he is setting his team up to play as if the Cannibal's clone is somehow lurking around?

Liverpool look ordinary and like a mid-table team. No creativity, a lack of inspiration and the big pink bull at Anfield that is Gerrard. How Rodgers cannot see that age has caught up with Stevie and he cannot cope against a fitter midfield opponent that like to run is alarming. The longer and more games he plays, the more in the crapper Liverpool's season will go.

Even when Sturridge comes back, he can't offset the amount of problems that are in this team. The amount of times Liverpool have given up goals by bad defensive placement is countless. This is what a coach should preach in training...and that is what cost them the title last season. Rodgers has not learned.

It's hard to say what Liverpool need apart from divine intervention and injecting Balotelli with his Euro 2012 semi-final juice. But Liverpool need to take stock and start picking up some points. The real question and conundrum is will Rodgers realise HE is the problem, and get Toure playing in defence and try TWO strikers, and replace Gerrard in midfield.
