FINALLY MARIO.....does it for Liverpool with the CRACK over Spurs in Top Four Battle!
If you're not going to score hardly any goals and pretty much BRICK IT UP...the next best thing you can do is score the winning goal in an important game....in front of your HOME POPULATION. And that is what Telli did and like his twitter handle, Mario finally came through and showed for this game in question, why he was bought by Rodgers.
This was a very good game, and how close it was just shows how exciting the top four will be. Because you have Liverpool who have come a long way from the Bricking days, and Spurs have really become one of the best attacking teams to watch with pretty average players....if you can tell me ONE superstar in that team, I will give you two cookies and a golden nugget.
As I predicted, which was 2-1, Liverpool would win because they just have better attacking players in their team. That was the only difference here, and when the man of the moment came on, all it took was for the RIGHT ball to be given to him, and the deal was sealed, and who knows what that goal could do for him.
But Spurs are not done. This is a season and not a cup game. So who knows if Liverpool will hit a roadblock, whether the legs of Ridge will hold, and speaking of Daniel just to divert slightly....the attack with him looks TOTALLY different, and the fitter he is, the more of a threat Liverpool can be for even that third position.
Tottenham don't need to panic, and just need to keep picking up points and using their star man Kane to lead them through the war. Because it's a good team that they have here, where everyone is on the same page and there is a nice footballing flow that they have, it's just a shame there is not that one FLAIR player, like a Dembele with a better footballing brain and end-spice to his game.
As for Liverpool, it really is just crazy how different they look. These guys were hopeless a few months ago and I could not bare to watch them...they were that bad.
But even without Sterling, you have a team that are still playing with the same attacking gusto that they had with Jaws, and it's yielding results for them. The defence still sucks, and they need to work on that because this is not the Barcelona situation where you have three dudes that CAN outscore the opposition at will.
Who knows who will finish top four. It's all exciting and anything can happen, and I don't really see any team having the momentum. Things can change so easily with an injury or two or three games where is just doesn't work out. But the Telli....he has taken so much insults that have been UNDESERVED so it is only right that the Italian man got the winner....and ha, I loved his celebration after scoring such an important late goal.....VERY TYPICAL MARIO!!!!
