This is a very close one to call. They are the two teams that I am glad are in the final, and they are pretty much the two best teams in the tournament. And I will always shake my damn head as to how Nigeria conspired to not make it into this very winnable tournament.
I digress. It is Ghana and Ivory Coast and although the tide may favour the talented orange men, Ghana have shifted the goals and have the performances to prove they can win this.
What really matters is what happens on that pitch and even though neither team has impressed me, Ghana have looked the better unit but without the individual talent of Ivory. So in my view, we are going to see a very tight game with very few goals.
Both teams are desperate to win it, because my goodness, I looked at the past winners and it has been about a millenia since either of them lifted up the trophy. So because of how much it would mean, both teams will keep it tight and focus on defending rather than going out for the first goal.
Ghana have shown that they rarely concede, and since the knockout stages, have been pretty much impenetrable. Ivory just look shaky at the back but what they have are two to three guys that can really just score. Because that Yaya G came from Congo playing better and doing all the hustling.
Hard to call. My Ghana people may hate me for this, but I really see this being edged by Ivory, possibly in a shootout.
The match will be close and it won't be the entertaining encounter people assume it will be....buy I just think that Michael Bay and his Ivorians, after so much expectation, will finally get it done....
