Man City Show Chelsea they WON'T Give Up that Ass So Easy as they Defend their Crown

They just won't leave My Boy alone. Just when I thought Chelsea would seal this title and go on a long winning run, City again cut that lead. Maybe they will drop points, but who the hell would have thought in any century that Burnley would get a point against Chelsea at the cribb???!!

YES, before you ask...I believe there is a campaign against My Boy....but not Chelsea. The kind of calls that were not given in that Burnley match lead me to only one logical conclusion, and that is the powers-that-be want this to be a close Premiership title race and don't want Mourinho to run away with it. Ferguson is fine, as at Old Trafford he GOT those calls, but My Boy doesn't seem to have that same powers when Chelsea play at the cribb.

This is really turning out to be quite a hell of a season because it looks as if City are hitting that gear that they hit during the late time of the season where they just go into OVERDRIVE. And when that happens, they are able to spank teams in ways that Chelsea just can't. Where City can score goals for fun and play teams off the pitch, Chelsea just go about their business in the classic Mourinho style and just grind results through. Occasionally Hazard will have a super game and they can be very attractive to watch, but not on the same consistent basis as City.

It gets worse for My Boy.

Yaya is back, Bony is another attacking option, Silva is balling, the defence look to be in a bit of a better shape and if Kun can stay fit, this is going to be a serious tit-for-tat in the next few months. BUT, people...relax, this is not a Manchester City blog, this is the greatest footballing blog in the universe. So there is always another side to the apple-pie with pecan taste. Mourinho has been in this position many times, he has more league title than Pellegrini, he is the master of the mind games....and they are STILL five points ahead in the table.

I have to put my cash on My Boy to get his boys on track and realize that they cannot rely on decisions to go in their favour. Mourinho should be beating Burnley without the need for penalties or calls. So I just have faith that Mourinho has the track record to keep Chelsea on that winning pattern and I do expect City to again slip up and Chelsea can always take advantage. In short, I am never a big fan of experience, but in the world of coaching and managing it really does matter and means something. Because Mourinho knows what to say to his players because this is VERY psychological now. It's about being in that right frame of mind to do your job and to NOT let it Gerrard....I mean, slip.

At the start I chose Chelsea and I am sticking with that pick. But five points as a gap at this point in this season is a very small gap. That can be erased after two or three matches. And yes, Chelsea have the more experienced and winning manager but City and Pellegrini know how to chase and to pip the leader right at the finishing line. Chelsea have to know that and any other slips from them may see their first position cracked open, and will they be able to claw it back with City ahead?
