Bayern RECONSTRUCT and STIR-FRY Porto in a DARK Football Day

If you were a Bayern fan, you would have loved last night. Would be like eating cotton candy over and over again without getting bored. Amazing. Fun. Sweet.

If you were a Porto fan, it would have been beyond painful to watch. Horrible. And some fans I hope would have been calling for some of those defenders to be dropped and for themselves to be put in place to do a better job.

What if you're like me, and just a friendly old football fan? And all you want in life is to simply watch a good football match? WHAT ABOUT US?!!!! DID PORTO THINK ABOUT ME?!!! COOKING FOOD! RUSHING HOME, JUST TO SEE THEIR ASSES HANDED TO THEM?!!!!

So we begin the inquest. Where did it all go wrong. Were Bayern just too sexy for these streets of were Porto paid off? Or perhaps Porto decided to defend like a bunch of airheaded imbeciles, allowing Bayern to pass as freely as birds. There are so many theories, but we are missing the main issue here, and that is how this is affecting the level of football that we see throughout a tournament.

But let's get back to what HH thinks was the reason that a massacre went down. It's two aspects. The first is a Simpsons character who was allowed to play in his strongest position and the other is team playing a strategy that they clearly are not equipped to play against a quality attacking team.

Lahm is the best right back in the world. Scratch that, he is one of the best right backs of ALL time. Yes, Baldiola still put Rafinha in Lahm's position, but the little guy is versatile and as long as he was on the flank, he showed why he is KILLER in that position. The degree to which Bayern differ from their yawnsville performances when Lahm is in defensive midfield is MASSIVE. That is because he gives them that extra attacking dimension, and importantly, whenever he gets the ball, nine point nine times out of ten he makes the right decision. Oh, and that team G Bayern scored? ALL Lahm. Look again at the ball he played to Muller rice FIRST time.

Ha. Porto. Okay, if you want to defend a good two-goal lead, of course you would defend and put men behind the ball. And try and see if you can try and get a counter here or there. That of course is the plan. But two things; if you don't have the defenders or midfielders to do this, CHANGE IT UP. Another thing, if you do have the players and see you are getting pimp-slapped, CHANGE IT UP. I don't get why the coach did not try and throw men forward when they were two down or even one down, seeing they could not cope, or even another defender to make it even harder for Bayern.

It's sad. Because it is embarrassing that a professional team can allow five G's in ONE half. On NO level is crap like that acceptable. And I have to repeat, Bayern did not play football that was out of this world, Porto just allowed them to express themselves and you don't do that against a club with the best squad in the world. But hey, maybe the Porto camp knew something I did not.

Bayern have made a statement that you will need to bring that A game to beat them, and oh....Robben and Ribery still to come back. As for Porto, I think a one year ban is the minimum from competing in the Champions League.
