Eden Hazard Totally Deserved PFA Award. Zero Argument.

Is there any debate? Who is thick enough to disagree with Hazard being player of the season?

And don't worry, the powers tried their best to give Harry Kane the award, but all credibility would have been lost for the Premiership if our blonde friend had managed to pick up the award.

The prize is given to a footballer who has stood out from the rest of the crowd over the course of the season. Also, a player who has helped define the campaign for their team. So this award does not necessarily need to be given to the champions. If a fifth placed team, who won nothing, had a player who had mad skills, scoring winning goals and doing all he could for that team, then no reason why he wouldn't pick up the candy.

But when looking at Hazard, when Chelsea end up as champions "officially" or "mathematically" or whatever the hell you want to call it, Hazard would have been one of the main reasons they would have one. Or, IF, he was NOT in Chelsea this season, City or Arsenal would have been champions. So that's pretty much what his influence was.

Winning goals, assists, and pretty much the very core of all of Chelsea's attacks. He has been the player who has turned matches for Chelsea. But for me what makes him set apart from the others is when Chelsea have not played well, when the matches have not been easy and he's come up. Because I could care less if you score eight g's against Granada or some semi-pro clownish team. If you can rise to occasion and score when your team needs you, the game is tied and you can get the winner, then that is the mark of a true footballer.

Some have called me out with my critique of Hazard. Perhaps I was too hard on him with his weak World Cup debut, and there is always another chance. And perhaps I rate him so highly that I will be harsher on him than say....Lord Bendtner. But maybe this is the beginning of things to come and for him to join Henry, Juninho, Cantona, Bergkamp, Asprilla, Zola and the other great players that the Premiership has seen.

Oh...and as long as he wears blue and white, things will be much harder for Arsenal, City and United to dethrone Mr. Mourinho.
