Was this article spurned out of Carlito scoring again against Lazio? Yes and no. Because when he scored that G, it just reminded me of what he's done in his career, and just how different the kind of systems he's played in as well as the quality of the players around him. But whatever the condition or scenario, he has delivered.
Perhaps the issue of Tevez not getting the love is the fact he is in the Serie A. If you ask anyone outside of Italy or a non-Italian what they think of the Scudetto, they will laugh and spit on your face. Harsh....but sadly very true. So it is believed anyone who flourishes in the Serie A only does so because of the low level of opposition. Which may have been true last year, but this season, would you care to remind me how many Premiership teams are in any European opposition as opposed to Serie A sides? Napoli just recently clapped Wolfsburg three zippo.
For Tevez though, he has done it in England, and he has done it internationally. Remember when he scored the goal at United that secured West Ham's place in the league? And that crazy goal he scored against Mexico in the World Cup? These are all facts here, and one can only beat what gets put before him.
Then there is that question of history. How will Tevez be remembered and all that. IF, somehow, and this is a very long shot, if Carlito can help Juventus win the Champions League, as well as the Copa America this summer, that will go some serious way in staking a claim for being one of the best modern day strikers. Because they talk a lot about Cannibal Suarez, but could he score the same amount of goals in a more defensively-orientated league? Carlito can score ANYWHERE and against ANYBODY. He has the heart of a beast with superb technique and a great eye for that net.
Give this man his props.....
