He's past it. He is old. He is not the Drogba we are accustomed to seeing. BUT great players always get it done. Whether you like it or not, they SHOW up when it matters, and that is exactly what the Drog did.
Chelsea are limping to the title. In a slow and very rugged way. My Boy is having to pull tricks out of his backside and armpits to get the draws and wins needed. With no Costa or Remy, Chelsea have had to rely on their legend who has had age wear him down. And for the past games, nothing has stuck with him as it used to when he had the legs to be one of the most lethal strikers in the Premiership.
There comes a time when you just need to get it done. When your team needs you, it's all about putting the ball in the net. I couldn't give a damn how hard it is, or the amount of defenders covering you, it's all about just getting it DONE. And that is what Drogba did. They needed to get back in the game, My Boy had screamed at them, and he rose up and delivered the goal that changed the game.
Grander scheme of things; I don't know how much my fellow African brother can offer Chelsea. You can see that the sharp movement and anticipation he had during his peak for Chelsea is not there anymore. But if this is his final season for Chelsea, it's a perfect way to end showing that even though he is playing badly and not hitting those high g's....it's all about that all important G that takes you closer to the title.
