Arsenal Should Use Forfeit Rule, If United Bring Wolfsburg GAME to them on Sunday
I think they should. Nothing to be ashamed of. Because can the universe really take Arsenal being totally outplayed and embarrassed by a United team that isn't the greatest one in recent memory?
The way that United attacked, moved the ball and just how exciting they looked going forward is something I haven't seen of them since Ferguson. It's the best they have looked since the great man left. Wolfsburg are not a chump team, and it was a really good game. But United deserved to win and should have won by more if Rooney actually remembered what the point of football is....which is to put the ball in the net.
Then we have Arsenal....
Two losses back to back in the Champions League, against teams that are not as good as Wolfsburg. The way in which they are playing, void of any alternatives or varied ideas, is not how you go and play a team like Man United. Then there is that defense. Ha, if Arsenal can concede three G's at HOME to Olympiakos, how many do you think they could concede against United? Now you can see why they should use that forfeit rule.
This is United though, and I don't trust them. I do not trust for them to now play in such a manner for the bulk of the season. It won't surprise me if they revert back to their wretched selves that couldn't even register a single goal against Newcastle. Not since Ferguson have United had a sustained period of playing good football, so why on earth should I now believe all of a sudden that should change? The funny thing though, is even if United play badly, they can still beat Arsenal, because the issue that the Gunners are having is more serious and far deeper.
I am waiting for someone to tell me just where exactly Wenger is taking Arsenal. After yet another loss to
Chelsea at the Bridge, the same Chelsea that are 15th, and two losses in the Champions League against opposition they should be sniping, it seems that they are regressing. So how a team that just got beat Olympiakos is supposed to get onto the pitch against another team that just beat Wolfsburg is beyond me. I understand that football likes to spring surprises and by some miracle a whole new Arsenal can take the field and deliver a truly wonderful performance...but I'm just not putting any money on that happening.
For the Arsenal fans that I know, I just don't want them to get beat up and cracked down by United, especially this United that has the clown Rooney in the team. A truly heavy beating could take the soul out of this team, and I fear it won't let them recover to get something from Bayern or even get themselves into the title race. Something needs to change for Arsenal to actually be taken seriously and not be laughed at by other fans. I have already made mention of the individual that needs to go for Arsenal to move forward, but let's not kid ourselves...that isn't happening.
Arsenal better hope that the horrible United turn up on Sunday and it's a much kinder beating that they take.
