Bayern are ripping through teams. Right now, they are public enemy numero uno, and they are very happily ripping through teams at will. We all knew they would take command of their Champions League group, but the manner in which they are going about it, is in total one-sided devastation fashion. Hence why the forfeit rule should be used by Arsenal so that they don't embarrassed.
In all this success, there is a certain Dutch killer whose name has not been said much. He sits on the sidelines and watches as Lewandowski is in crazy scoring form with Costa adding dynamism to the team. Lewandowski even came out to say he prefers having Gotze and Costa in the team since they are more inclined to provide than cut inside and score for themselves. So the thinking that having Costa rather than Robben is of more benefit to him.
So who needs Robben Hood then?
When all is said and done, Bayern win the league and perhaps the cup as well...they will face a team equal in talent to them either in the semi-finals or final of the Champions League. No matter how well Bayern have been playing, you have to look at the opposition that they have been up against. Olympiacos or Zagreb are not even dreaming of a semi-final berth, and the Bundesliga just doesn't compare to Barcelona, Madrid or PSG. Bayern will need more than what they have if they are to beat the best of the very best.
Robben is that kind of player who is made for the big time. I could care less what he did in the 2010 World Cup Final (I am still waiting for those doping results concerning Spain's team), Robben is one of the very best footballers of his generation. He's a guy who I would take on my team over Messi...yes, I said, and I will say it again:

When you are in tight matches, where chances are at a minimum, and the defense refuses to give you any space whatsoever, that is where you need my man Robben. He is the kind of player who can produce some Houdini type sorcery to turn a tight 1-1 into a 2-1. There is no other player like him on the planet, who has that greedy, single-minded gene of wanting to bring home the candy himself. He's the kind of player who you rest your hopes on, and even though he may not always deliver, he's always ready to put his neck on the line and put himself in a situation to try and do so. Not once have I ever seen him shrink and disappear in a big match...unlike another player that I know.
There you have it, Bayern are incredible now and any team not on their level will get annihilated. When it comes to playing the big dogs, they will need their full team but also the Dutch sniper as well. Big games require big players, and they are very few and far between these days.
