Liverpool CAN be Motivated by CAUSING SACKING of My Boy Mourinho
Tomorrow is the biggest match of the weekend, and potentially the year. Mourinho's job is on the line. They will be facing Liverpool who have not been the greatest this season, but seem to think a blonde German with glasses and a bit of a mental attitude will save them.
Right...
Liverpool though have a chance to completely change Chelsea's season. A victory tomorrow, and we can all be certain that the impatient Abramovich will order the axe be thrown down upon Mourinho in true Medieval fashion. I don't know a scenario in which Mourinho will remain as manager if they lose to Liverpool, unless some witchcraft is being used, which in that case, all bets are off.
This can be a match that can kickstart Liverpool's season who just seem to be floating around, not really going anywhere. Ever since the departure of the guy from Uruguay who's pretty good but likes some nibbling of the flesh, Liverpool have just faltered and have never even come close to those heights. So with Klopp now brought in after Rodgers was thrown out the window, there is hope that what he did to get Dortmund out of the doldrums can be replicated at Anfield where I assume, he has more cheddar to spend. But what can you do if you don't have the players?
The issue with Liverpool and it's something that not even the greatest manager can fix, is the players in that squad are not good enough to finish in the top four. There are SOME pretty good players and there are others who are just completely and utterly awful. Fans cannot expect Klopp to do anything of much significance with this bunch. However, as for tomorrow's clash against a Chelsea team who just don't know how to win a match comfortably, Liverpool have a really good chance to win. Southampton did it, West Ham did it, so did Crystal Palace (it actually sounds much worse once you list the teams that Chelsea have already lost to), so there is no reason why Livepool cannot go and beat Chelsea.
There's nothing a professional athlete craves more than extra motivation. There is always the standard urge to win and defeat your opponents. But to win a trophy, or defeat a rival or in this case, to force-feed a mansion-filled supply of humble pies down the throat of Mourinho has to be one of THE great motivators. He's the bad guy, he's the one that kept running his mouth and could back it up with wins and success. For Liverpool to go and beat Mourinho in his own backyard, inflicting yet another defeat and the one that really should see him get sacked for the first time in his career will be very sweet music to the thousands upon thousands of Jose haters that populate our planet.
As for winning the title and finishing in the top four......ehhh, that's a discussion for another day, kids.
