Dybala's Real Test Will Come Against Bayern...If Fit

You've heard me jump up and down with glee with the exploits of the young Argentine. He's having an incredible debut season for Juventus, and is almost single-handedly retaining their Scudetto. Many people, including myself, feel it's inevitable that Juventus will win the Serie A and if they do, without a doubt Dybala will be named player-of-the-season.

Despite all the praise, Dybala's true test hasn't come yet. He may be young, but that means nothing to me. Once players have shown they have that IT factor, I hold them to a much higher standard than their peers. Dybala has done enough to be talked about in world terms. Yeah, he has to develop and gain more experience and all that jazz, but he is ready now to at least attempt to be the main man.

This is where we need to make a deal with the fates and just hope and pray Dybala is fit for the Bayern clash. That will be his sternest test and it may perhaps be the game where he is brought back down to Earth. Whether Boateng is fit or not, he will be going up against one of the best club teams in the world with a group who know how to win a Champions League. So the level that his game is right now, he will need to take it to another level and we will then really get to know what the kid is really made of.

I'm not saying the Serie A is a Donald Duck league and it's a breeze. He's putting in some serious work and the league in Italy is not like France where PSG are playing in Gear 1. But we have to be realistic. Bayern Munich are a better team than virtually everyone else in Italy and Dybala will not have faced a group as strong as the Bavarians. That is why again, I am pleading with the fates that he is fit for this match because without him, Bayern pretty much have a bye to the quarter-finals. The world needs to see Dybala on the biggest club stage, and I hope that he puts his best foot forward.

For now, we just have to wait and enjoy his performances while we build up to the humongous clash. Dybala must have an eye towards that match and he'll know the eyes of the world will be on it. It's the tie of the entire round, and no offence to Arsenal but their match is a foregone conclusion. Everyone will have their attentions on Juventus against Bayern, and for the final time....hoping that Dybala is fit and fresh as six daisies for that match to see whether he will sink or swim when the brightest lights shine upon him.
