Roooooooooooooooooooooooooonaaaaaaaaay wins it for United at Anfield

Ha! Well....well! The one who many thought would be annointed the 2016 Brick, turned up to be the match winner in a game that United really should have lost. They hardly created many chances and it was Liverpool who pushed harder. But goals win games, and Rooeny was in the right place at the right time to decide the match.

Ruthless.

It would be foolish to now excuse all the rubbish Rooney has serves us up with because of his winning goal. He is still a liability, and his inadequacies were on dsiplay in the way in which he couldn't play the striker's position properly. Van Gaal has to sort out that position, because for some reason he doesn't want to play Martial there and Wayne's game has moved away from being efficient in that role.

That aside, Rooney showed why he can still be of use to both United and England. In matches like these, where your team really isn't in it, and it's looking more like you're trying not to lose rather than win, it's the players with characters and guts that win these kinds of games. For these cats, they are always waiting for that one opportunity. Especially when you are playing away, and the home team is pushing harder and further up the field and their spirits are high because of the backing of the crowd. That is when you know the chance is always going to come, but you need to take it.

For the goal, it was all about anticipation and execution. As soon as Fellaini's header hit the bar, it was about who would react first and where one was. Rooney got himself in the right position, and was the first to react. Then it was all about executing a slightly difficult shot. It all came to plan, and Rooney managed to take a very crucial three points for United which puts the pressure on Spurs who can feel them breathing down their neck.

Rooney can be very crucial for United if he plays that supporting striker position, and Martial either becomes the main striker or they just play Chicharito there. Oops, Van Gaal realized it would be a wise decision to sell of their in-the-box striker to Leverkusen. Oh, and he's scoring quite a few goals for Germany, so that turned out to be a great idea.

I'll give Wayne this. He's earned this. It was a winner, in a very tight and important game, and you must give credit. He remains half a brick at least, and needs to consistently contribute now to make up for the garbage he has been doing for most of the season.

Wayne Jeremiah....well done.
