AC Milan Still Suck, But HUGE Derby Win Show Bright Signs

Don't you dare say that Milan are back to their best. No way. That would be an insult to the greatness of this club, and the legends that have worn this jersey. But at least there are signs that they are moving in the right direction. After so many tepid performances, Milan have finally made a huge statement after underachieving for so long.

This was a very big game. It's a derby. How ever low the two clubs have fallen, this will always be a huge match. Just looking at the amazing flags, atmosphere and the noise showed you that this is still the most dramatic derby in the world. For Milan to actually come out not only as winners, but give Inter a serious spanking, is the first real big victory for Mihaijlovic.

I'm not yet convinced by him and feel that Galliani and everyone's favorite president, Berlusconi, could have done better in the coaching deparment. Surely there are better managers out there. But this victory right here has me taking notice. Sinisa coached his team to perfection where they put forth a great team peformance. You have to understand that Milan are without a single player I would call a world-class. So to be able to beat Inter by so much, keeping in mind Inter were the team setting the tone of the league a month ago, shows the magnitude of the victory.

The season isn't over yet, and Milan can't rest on their laurels. If come May, Milan finish seventh and Inter get that top three position then this result would mean absolutely nothing. As important as it is winning a derby, all that matters is the bigger picture. They have to finish above Inter, and even more importantly, the aim is to get back in the Champions League. That is where Milan belong and anything less is an embarassment to this club.

But please, let's keep it real here, Milan still suck and they are playing at a standard well below what is expected of the Champions League. Right now,  I don't think they will make the top three as Napoli, Juventus and Fiorentina are just so much better and more consistent. But if they can somehow, by some miracle pip Fiorentina or Inter to that third place, then Mihaijlovic has my utmost respect.

Doubt it though...
