Chelsea Can Edge it Against Stronger PSG
PSG are the better team, they are the favorites and they lead the tie. So naturally, they would be expected to win the match. That is all true, and if they were to go through nobody would be surprised. But this Hiddink campaign may have something hidden in the pocket, and they have what it takes to tactically match PSG and just about edge what I feel will be a close game.
It's pretty simple. If Cavani and Ibra bring their A game and actually play like lethal strikers, then Chelsea will lose. They will get opportunities against a Chelsea defense that isn't exactly water-tight, and if they put a few away then it's lights out. But how many times have these two so-called "big" players flopped when the lights shine brightest?
I can't put my money on these two players putting away their chances when it comes to them based on past experience. Well, that would be concern Cavani a lot more since it is he who has been known to flunk in front of goal, because Ibrahimovic has been so absent in these kind of games that he doesn't even get himself in positions to even miss these chances.
As for Chelsea, they may be the weaker team who have had a dramatic season, but despite that they have what it takes to take out PSG. Especially if they can get a bit of luck with PSG missing their chances, they keep things firm defensively and they take that chance when it comes to them, this could be a one goal swing. So don't expect Chelsea to totally slaughter PSG because only Barcelona can do that. But they can fight it out in a closely fought contest and just about squeeze through.
There's also a chance where Chelsea could concede but win this 2-1, and it goes into extra time just like before. If that was to happen, I'd still side with Chelsea being able to get the key goal to swing it in their favour. It's just a feeling that I have with how Chelsea's season has been transformed by Hiddink and my distrust for Blanc's project with PSG, and their ease in the French League not helping their case as well.
Expect a close game, where the defenses will be most prominent, and a game in which would be decided by a slip or lapse in concentration. The pressure will be on PSG who will be expected to come out as winners being the better team, so the underdog tag will be put on Chelsea. We all know what happened in that year where no one thought Chelsea could even dream of being in semi-final based on their league position. HH
Oh, and Ibrahimovic BETTER show up
