Ibrahimovic Needs to Show up Tonight against Chelsea

Recently, over the past few years, I've been starting to question this notion of Ibrahimovic being this great player that the media makes him out to be. Because let's really ask ourselves the question; does Ibrahimovic deserve the praise he gets?

In no way am I saying Ibrahomvic is not that good, because he will go down as one of the best finishers the game has ever seen. But in far too many big games, important games where your best players need to give their best performances, the dude from Sweden who knows some martial arts has disappeared. He's not put his foot down on the match and has simply drifted as the game passes him by.

So yet again, we have another big game. Last Ibra was in London, he got sent off and he blamed the reactions of the Chelsea players for playing a part in it. Tonight, he can simply not put himself in that kind of situation again and instead focus on his game. I mean, I believe that he's a striker because the attacking midfield or supporting-striker role is not really suited to him. So all I ask is for him to be there when either Maxwell or Di Maria fire balls into the box.

I'm predicting a tight game, as Chelsea do believe that they can go through and Hiddink is working on a gameplan to negate PSG's danger men, which include Ibra. So this is the kind of match where Ibrahmovic has to raise his game because Chelsea will be mindful and won't want to allow him any space and will try to make things as difficult for him as possible by getting tight on him when they sense danger. That means Ibra doing his whole drifting and casual routine won't yield any results. He's got to be active, want the ball but more importantly be smart by getting himself in dangerous positions inside the box.

I'll be watching because I call players out who like all the accolades and praise but don't back it up on the pitch. If Ibra gives another nothing performance, even if PSG win, I'll vilify him for it. He's got to stand up and take the lead for PSG because he's the face of the club and it's been built around him. Time to give something back and start performing in the games that matter against the best that Europe has to offer...if you want to counted as among the best. HH
