I think it's a Bad Move for Conte to Announce Departure from Italy after Euros

I don't like this. For a coach going into the first tournament with his country, and that also being his last one is strange to me. When it was announced he would be coach, I believe everyone rightfully assumed he would do the two-tournament swing of the Euros and World Cup at the very least.

To only take part in Euro 2016 and not take this talented group that includes a player who could potentially be one of the best in the world in Veratti is very strange. Maybe he's been offered a great contract and so much money, as that can be the only reason why he would not want to carry on beyond 2016.

The reason why I believe it's a bad move is because of the importance of continuity in the national team game. International football is not as frequent as the club game and so therefore, it's far more important to have that same ideology from a coach that can be carried over in tournaments. So after months of being away from each other, once they come into camp, they can easily slot back into the swing of things because it's same manager who has maintained those same ideas.

Imagine if Italy were to either win the Euros or get to the semis. Conte would leave and another manager would come in, who will most likely be very different from Conte. What you would have in Russia 2018 is a team who would play differently from the one that performed so well at the Euros. Whereas, their chances of doing well at Russia would be greatly enhanced if Conte would remain.

These are all hypothetics as we have no idea how well Italy will do this summer. I just thought that knowing Conte and his passion for the game, he would have wanted to take Italy to the World Cup, after all, that is the greatest and most important sporting competition and not many people can say they managed their country at the showpiece tournament.

I would like to know how many zeroes are on the contract I'm sure Conte has already signed for his next club. HH
