Blondie aka Fernando MORON Torres Cost Atletico the Tie against Barca

Why oh why would you get two dumb yellow cards so close to one another? Add to that, why would you get two dumb yellow cards away from home in a Champions League quarter-final against one of the favorites? These are the questions that I need answered from your boy friendly neighbourhood moron Fernando Jeremiah Torres.

Those that say Torres is of any relevance to the world of football I think are stupid. Sorry, it's just me being very blunt and truthful. Ever since his move to Chelsea, Torres has been on a sharp decline which included missing an open goal, being non-existent for AC Milan and just leading the way in how you perform brilliantly as a brick.

Under Simeone, by some miracle, he's actually not been too bad and scored in some important games. Overall, he is nowhere near as good as he was back in 2008 when he scored the winning G that gave Spain the European cup. But he has at least been contributing which is a lot more than he offered at Milan and Chelsea.

Going into this first leg against Barcelona, I didn't even want Simeone to start Blondie. Surely, there had to be better options than this brick. Then I remembered that Atletico have the same budget as a small island, and they pretty much had to play Blondie. So I was looking at how Koke and Griezmann would open that ass up rather than Torres.

Then to my great surprise (or not, because these are how these things happen), Blondie scores from a great ball from Koke. A precious away goal, Atletico looking good defensively and things looked all rosy for the Madrid club. All Torres had to do was just put a bit of pressure on the Barcelona backline, and try and pick up any passes from the counters that Atletico would have.

Nope. Torres had to flip the script. For no real apparent reason, Blondie just lost it and produced two of the dumbest and most idiotic fouls I've seen in such a short space of time. They were definite yellow cards, and I would have even given him a straight red for the foul on Biscuits, purely based on stupidity. What was going through Blondie's brain is beyond my understanding but he cost Atletico the tie and with him out of the second leg and no other alternative, things don't look too promising for them.

I just can't put my finger on what Blondie did apart from him having...a Blonde moment. There is no scientifical explanation for why someone would make two silly fouls that would get him sent off. Totally needless against players who were not posing any danger at all. I don't even want to buy the argument of him being over-eager and trying too hard. At the end of the day, you have to engage your brain and as a striker, you have no business getting two yellow cards...especially in a game like this.

Blondie...oh Blondie. HH
