Kevin De Bruyne can Lead Man City Past PSG
Forget about Aguero, Yaya and even the "great" Bony. The one man that can lead City to their very first Champions League Semi-Final is none of than the red-cheeked Belgian maestro. If he has a great game and City can get him involved in dangerous areas of the pitch, then City have a great chance of beating a very beatable PSG team.
People must remind themselves that it was believed De Bruyne would miss all the knockout games. When he went down, the prognosis was about seven to eight months, which meant the end of the season for him. Thankfully, he came back and it's like he didn't miss a day. Scoring against Bournemouth in his first game back, and getting a valuable away G at Paris that puts City in a great position to reach the semi.
But I'm not beating around two bushes when I say that it's really all about De Bruyne if City want to beat PSG. To prevent them from scoring, it's going to have to be a team effort without the talents and leadership of Kompany. Having Hart between the white poles will help after that super save to deny the Flop Ibra from the spot.
As far as getting the G's to win because City must expect PSG to score, it's going to have to come one way or another through De Bruyne. He has to be the focal point of the attack, which means Pellegrini has to stretch PSG and create counter-attacking opportunities like the one they had that got them the opening goal in Paris. If they can make that happen, then the Parisien club will be in a lot of trouble.
I've found it hard trying to predict this game, and even though I am leaning towards PSG, it is by the most minute and slightest margin. It's going to be a real close game that will swing both ways. There's even a chance of another 2-2 scoreline that would take it to extra time. All I know though, is De Bruyne is City's most effective and important attacking player. If he has a great game and can get his crosses into the box for an Aguero that we hope can at least be involved in the game this time rather than being half asleep as he was in the first leg, then City could get some real cheddar.
The chance is right there. Pellegrini can smell it. A semi-final beckons. They aren't behind in the tie, having to rely on the crowd to get them back in the game. They're winning and it's PSG who have to come to their cribb and get themselves back into the mix. So they have it in their hands and the Belgian winger is that ace in the hole he can throw to shock the world and take them into unchartered territory for the club. HH
