Messi SHOULD Return to Argentina to Retire
Rosario is calling, Rosario is calling. The kid Messi has come out and said how he wants to return back to his hometown in Argentina to end his career. This is a big statement concerning Barcelona who assumed that he would see out his entire career at the Catalan fortress.
I applaud Messi for doing this. He could easily keep on winning trophies and retire as a true Barcelona legend playing there for the rest of his days. Instead, despite the insults he has received from the hardcore Argentines on the streets who don't feel that he gives as much of an effort for the national team, he is opting to go back home.
He hasn't lost his Argentine soul and wants to give something back to the place where it all started. Barcelona may have developed and nurtured him, but we all have our origin and that is hugely important. As much as those in Barcelona love Messi, and they do, that love cannot compare with what those in Rosario will feel for someone who is one of their own.
To end what would be an amazing career, which can be legendary if he wins the Copa or World Cup, Messi could lead Rosario to the Copa Libertadores. If he did that, I can tell you for a fact right now, it would mean far much to him than all the Champions League medals, La Ligas, Super Cups and Copa Del Reys.
It's just like Lebron trying win the NBA ring with Cleveland. Winning it for your hometown, especially when they have never even come close to such success carries far more weight than doing it for the bigger club that alread had a history of success. HH
