Van Gaal Sacked by Man United. It IS Over
"It's over"
Those apparently were the words uttered by LVG, anticipating what United were going to do to him. But now, it really is over. Man United will confirm that Van Gaal will be sacked as their manager. After all that money spent, falling down on the touchline creating a memorable meme, and jokes being cracked, it's now all finished.
You can probably hold a strong argument that Van Gaal deserved the sack. The amount of cash he spent on players, the stature of Man United and not being able to even get in the top four is a sackable offence. There is very little argument you can have to finish below Spurs and Leicester City if you're the manager of Man United. Those clubs are ants compared to United's lion in terms of spending power.
I've never felt that the United squad were good enough to win the Premiership. There are players that don't connect with each other and when I see them play, things seem uneven. It's not just about buying the best players in the world, but creating a team with chemistry and dudes that are all on the same wavelength. That is how you create a winning team.
Van Gaal can't compain too much. The FA Cup may have been a bit of a bargaining chip, because a trophy is a trophy. However, Van Gaal should realise that the league is the greatest priority for United followed by the Champions League and then the FA Cup. He wasn't hired to win sideshow trophies, it was all about the big cheese. In that sense he failed miserably by not even coming withing touching distance fo Leicester City.
Adios LVG...you have entertained us all. HH
