Carlos Tevez Transfer to China IS a Turning Point in Club Football

It's now official. Carlito Alberto Martinez Tevez IS the best paid footballer on the planet. More than Lionel, more than Cristiano.

The game has changed, people. All those thinking the Chinese Super League would end up like the MLS, and won't ever be a threat are gravely mistaken because this is a seismic transfer that shows China mean business.

As far as Carlito is concerned, I don't care whether he's been plying his trade in his home country; the man can still strike and has that same bulldog, tenacious striking ability. For any team, he's a great addition and you never lose that touch with age.

Tevez is no longer regarded as one of the best strikers in the world. Back when he was at Juventus or Man United, for sure he was among at least the five best in his position. But as of 2016, you can't put him in that category, which is why the Chinese Super League are still waiting to lure that marquee name.

What makes this such a big move, is a little to do with the fact that Tevez is still a great player and very well known and respected. Just ask any Juve fan. By far, Tevez will be the best player in the Chinese Super League once he starts playing.

No offence to the legendary and incredible...Oscar.

This is all about the cheddar. He is reportedly going to earn upwards of £600,000 a week. To try and even try and wrap your head around the figure is impossible. It's so disgusting, outrageous, and whatever word you can think of that I'm not going to go into how this proves the fall of any integrity club football ever had.

Most people in the world won't come close to seeing that kind of money in their lifetime.

It's too much money to ignore and for other up and coming players, and those struggling to get into
their side, they will at the very least consider China as an option. The possiblity of earning four or five times more is too much to ignore. At the end of the day, it's just a game, whereas we live in a world where the mighty dollar makes it go around.

And everyone likes to buy nice things, especially when you have come from a dirt poor background.

Which is why when the first current world class player moves to China, that's when the game will truly change and others will follow.

That's what the Super League is waiting for, and I am telling you, the time will come when they get that player and the European market will have some real competition.

As for Tevez, I'm happy for him. One of the most hardworking footballers I've ever seen and the Chinese fans will love and appreciate what he brings to the game. I just find it quite depressing that a footballer can earn that much a week. I shudder to think how more ridiculous these wages will get in the future.
