Oh man, this did NOT go to plan. Chelsea have not won here for a minute, but I thought at LEAST they were going to get a draw. But the boy Foy really took some very odd decisions and in the end, Villa took home a win and Chelsea have now LOST their advantage in the title race, and my boy was NOT happy.
I just don't know what is wrong with this Chelsea team. AGAIN, Mourinho put his faith in Blondie, and AGAIN, Blondie turned up a blank. Shocking. STRIKERS JUST DO NOT WANT TO SCORE. Mourinho made the changes, but that sending off pretty much killed off the game, and without a finisher like their Drogba, Chelsea WILL continue to struggle as Mourinho tries to to work his magic to SCRAP for goals.
The sending off of Willian was stupid. That "foul" does not even warrant a second's thought. So that was a WRONG decision from Foy. As for Ramires, the game was already over, and that WAS a sending off but my goodness...it's not like he DIVED WITH TWO FEET LOOKING TO CHOP DOWN A GUY'S LEGS LIKE SOME OTHERS. But, Delph was the star man, who started a good breakaway and scored the goal of the month. VERY VERY high quality finish. In the end, Villa deserved it as Chelsea did not do enough with eleven dudes on the pitch.
It's a Chelsea team that will still battle all the way and my money will continue to be on them, but with these points getting dropped and City looking set on doing the job with their games in hand, it might just be advantage to City. You could see why Mourinho was so worked up, as he knew that at least a POINT would have been great at this stadium. With that Willian red card, he will feel hard done by...but Lambert and Villa were the better team. They created more chances, as well as the better ones. End of the day, they scored and won with a man up...Hull had a man up against City and lost whilst being outplayed. Does NOT bode well for Chelsea...but this title race is one for the ages in Premiership history and it ain't over yet...
