Can We Get a Little Love for the Hustlers in the Game? Enter THOMAS MULLER

Please? Can we? Football is a wide ranging sport. A lot of the time, the player who can do amazing tricks, and juggle the ball a thousand times is completely ineffective in a football match. So in the end, he is pretty useless and nothing but a trickster. My boy Dinho IS that exception though. Then we have those players who have pretty much no flash, and as you see them play, you wonder how they are a professional footballer. Let me educate you; Thomas Muller is one of those players that despite his lack of skill, is ESSENTIAL TO ANY FUCKING FOOTBALL TEAM. READ ON!

What makes Thomas Muller so good is his understanding of situations in a football match. He is a player who knows how to get in the right place at the right time. He has NO fear as that goal against Barcelona in the first leg proved. And, he actually plays a very important position as the free roaming link between midfield and attack. When you watch him, he seems all over the place and SUPER awkward. But his effect for Germany and Bayern is amazing. He keeps on popping up to create chances for himself, and he somehow finds ways of drifting past defenders and really involving his teammates to create an opportunity. No flash, ALL EFFECT.

Back in 2010, many believed that him not being in that match against Spain was the reason Germany lacked a cutting edge.
Now, someone will need to remind me whether or not he was playing in the Euro semi against Italy in 2012. Whatever the case, this is the kind of player you pick before a skillful player who can't do shit on the pitch.
Football is ALL ABOUT winning matches and all about CREATING situations on the pitch. It is an incredibly difficult game that does not lend itself to flashy players who can't get stuck in. By getting stuck in, this does not mean aggression, but it means having an understanding of where defenders are on the pitch. Knowing when to run into space, and having the awareness to link up with your teammates to create space for a shot and unleashing one in the bottom corner. In his own very unique way, Muller does that and as he is showing for Pep and Bayern, Germany will most certainly NEED him when the World Cup comes round next summer.
