Hyypia Looks to Challenge the Bayern Machine as Leverkusen put down Dortmund

This is a results business. It doesn't matter whether it's pretty or ugly, results are all that matter. Somehow, despite being beaten by United heavily...although most of the goals were Leverkusen's fault....it is THEY that are trying to keep up with Bayern while Dortmund's Bundesliga season continues to spiral out of control. The question is whether Hyypia and his boys have the strength to challenge THE most dominant team in club football.

Son's goal was a VERY well taken goal. He did not do the standard shoot on sight, but he had the confidence to dummy the keeper and the balance and focus to finish it off. Then, Leverkusen held their own and battled Dortmund to the end....and even with ten men (RIGHTFULLY so) Leverkusen defended bravely and go those three very precious points. So with Dortmund TEN points behind Bayern, Leverkusen are still only four points and still have Bayern in their sights. It's an impossible task pretty much, as Bayern just seem to get better and even without their star player, they can still put seven goals in. THAT is just too damn scary.

Hyypia has to be very proud of himself. Nobody would have thought Leverkusen would be where they are now. After being insulted and mocked by myself that a second-placed team in Bundesliga lost so heavily to another Premiership team lurking around mid-table, this was a superb response that really showed their resolve. The question is whether they have that consistency to keep on winning and take advantage IF rather than when Bayern drop points. They cannot afford to settle for just doing the best they can with what they have. If Hyypia continues to instil this great work-ethic and a belief that they can GRIND out results....then anything is truly possible in this crazy game of football.
