With another Loss at HOME to Newcastle, my Goodness....it may be an END of an Era of United Dominance
Remember the days when teams would fear going to Old Trafford? Where you knew you would get at most THREE chances, and knew you had to take them? When it was a shock United would draw at home, let alone lose? Well, those days are gone, it's over, finito and three cappuccinos. This is VERY bad now, and we may be seeing a serious shift in power taking place before our eyes!
People will put the blame to Moyes and I had been one of the Scotman's biggest critics. Looking at it entirely, and reading what United fans have to say....it may not be his fault.
Kagawa was ill and could not play and he played both Hernandez and Van Persie. He put out pretty much his strongest team and they just could not get it done. The reality is the squad isn't very good that's why Ferguson had to recall Scholes and that is why it's now a proven fact that Fergie is an AMAZING coach.
With a bunch of dudes that are getting old and really are not comparable to the other talents you find at Chelsea and City, Ferguson got the best out of them. Moyes is now left with the remains and is doing the best he can with a midfield that is non-existent, a defence that have creaking bones and now with a star striker who seems like he might want to jump ship.
Moyes could have helped his situation by actually playing a consistent team, rather than chopping and switching it around so often. Benching Kagawa then playing, then benching him again wasn't very wise. He will rue that decision as his United have been at their BEST when Kagawa and Rooney have both been on the pitch. I think he knows that now as without Kagawa, United could hardly create any chances and it resulted in Van Persie having to come all the way back in midfield to try and get involved.
I fear as to what will happen in January and the summer. United fans need to brace themselves for the worst. The day of the loyal footballer is gone and Rooney and Van Persie must be thinking of getting off this train. They are right in their peaks and cannot afford to give Moyes a year or so to rebuild. These guys want to win now and will go elsewhere for that.
I like what I am seeing. It's different and new. No longer are United now a fearsome team at home, that era is over and it opens up the Premiership to be one of the most open in a very long time.
