Messi Finally Produces Magic for Argentina against a Very Solid Bosnia in 2-1 Victory.

All eyes are on Messi at this World Cup. He IS still the best footballer on the planet. He IS in South America, and his country expects. However, against a VERY impressive Bosnia side, Messi and Argentina found it hard. For a moment, I thought it was a case of here we go again...another Messi FLOP.

In the first half, Bosnia showed that they were ready to deal with Messi. Each time he received the ball, a Bosnian was on him, got physical and the tackling was tough on him. Even though Argentina got that early goal, Serbia kept themselves in the game and made it very hard for Messi to conjure his pixie dust. It was an EASTERN EUROPEAN WALL OF STEEL!

Messi for some reason was collecting the ball in the midfield area and was spraying passes....in the way a central midfielder would. Only problem is, last I checked, Messi is not that position. But even when he was in the danger areas, Bosnia REFUSED to let up and suffocated him.

Things changed in the second half, and Argentina played quicker, knowing that this was a serious Serbian team. Messi played further up, and got more involved in attacking plays. And finally, Lionel did what does for fun with Barcelona. He RAN at that Serbian defense and produced the magic that every Argentine including Maradona has been hoping to see. A great goal, and his celebration showed how BADLY he wanted that goal.

Argentina have a lot to improve upon. They need a better formation, more structure and more definition. But bottom line is Messi. If he can really take hold of this team and deliver when needed.....maybe.....perhaps....
