Why Roma Should Either Sack Garcia OR FORCE HIM TO PLAY WITH STRIKERS

Never would I have imagined there would come a time where a football team would play a match WITHOUT a natural striker. When Spain did this in 2012, I was waiting for them to lose. But when they WON, I was shocked and I feared that football was going down a darker and more boring path. Thankfully, that reign in Spain ended...but there are still numbskulls like Garcia....

So you have a crucial winner-takes-all match IN YOUR OWN HOUSE, against the CHAMPIONS of the English league. You would think the LEAST that you would have is a striker whose job would be to HARASS and pester Demechelis who is always ready to make a mistake. But no, Garcia is far too clever for this. He still somehow believes that Spanish football rules the world, and the way to play is filling your team with midfielders with NO striker.

SHAMEFUL.

As I watched Roma in the first few minutes, they looked very creative and inventive. But at the first half went on and City survived those early kicks, whenever you play away, it seemed Roma were out of ideas.

How many times did the ball go to the wing and the player looked up to find that there was nobody in the box waiting to receive the ball?

It became predictable and it played into City's hands who were able to predict what Roma were going to do. And knowing they had to score, they took their chances whilst Roma did not. But this was a match that was put on a damn NAPKIN AND WRAPPED IN SILK for Roma. A weakened City team who were used to getting knocked out of the Champions League were there to be beaten. But Garcia made his team play a very annoying and dumb style which is not what I class as football AT ALL.

Sack him. That is how I felt after the match and if Garcia persists with this "philosophy" then he should be fired IMMEDIATELY Yes, he has done a lot for Roma....so did Wenger. But there comes a time when a hard decision needs to be made in order to uphold the credibility of a football club and move them forward. There is enough talent in this Roma squad for a new coach to come in, instil a winner's mentality and add some striking rockets to make them a truly DEADLY team.

It was one of the worst ways to go out. Fine, get TOTALLY beat, or even play badly and get DESERVED to be beat. But Roma were in that no man's land where they did play football but it was naive football. All that matters at the end of the day is Roma had a chance to go through to the next stage by simply beating City IN THE CRIBB, but they did not come to play football whilst City DID and WON.
