And that may be all that she wrote for Bayern's season. Out of the cup, and now its looks most likely out again at the semis without their best attacking player. With Robben, Bayern could beat Barcelona...without him and Barca at full-strength.....I'm afraid it is too hard a task over two legs to beat Messi and chums.
Most Bayern fans I have spoken to have called it in. And yes, I KNOW my name is Have Hope and I'm supposed to offer some support, but Robben is VITAL for Bayern if they have any chance of winning the Champions League. Of course they have excellent players, but every team has that superstar. Without Messi, barcelona are still very good but not excellent. Without Robben, Bayern are very good but with him, they become a team that can realistically boogie.
Pep was right to put him on. But I think eyes have to be turned to the doctors and Robben. Because a coach puts his trust in the medical team to get it right. If he hadn't fully recovered and was put out too early, then that is on the medical team who flopped on that. BUT, before you send hitmen to their homes, Robben did have a period were he was known as the glass man. And we all thought his career would end with being injured too many times. But he got past that and managed to go through seasons without any long term injuries.
Look, this is bad. I wanted both teams at their best, for a classic to be made. But without Robben and I'm hearing a broken jaw on Robert.....it doesn't look promising for Bayern Munich at all.....
