What people need to understand is that Madrid played well. I'm hearing nonsense from "journalists" of how Madrid were mediocre or poor. Utter horse excretion. Real played their part in what was an excellent football match. Maybe some of these so-called football writers forgot the 21 attempts on goal that Real made through the match. You can maybe say they should have done better in critical positions, but they definitely played well with Marcelo again showing why he is easily in the top five category of best ballers in the world.
Juventus just had a game plan and executed it to beautiful Italian fashion. They studied Madrid, and did not ever allow themselves to get fully exposed with them only allowing a "penalty" to be scored against them. It was a performance that started at the back with Emperor Chiellini and Bonnucci both on yellows, using their defensive brains to thwart the amazing onslaught Madrid laid on their penalty area. Never did they panic or lose their positional discipline, and that credit must be given to Allegri who does not get enough praise for his defensive wizardry.
It's a great comeback story and you saw how the half-Nigerian Buffon celebrated at the end because it meant so much to him. Juventus were never meant to be in the Final. The ref, UEFA and "everyone" wanted a Clasico Final but Madrid came up against a superbly coached team that raised their game for the occasion. And how amusing is it that with all the money Madrid spent on Cristiano,Benzema, James and Bale....it was one of their own that scored two crucial goals in both legs. I can talk about how dumb it is Morata did not celebrate the most important goal he has scored,but that's for another day.
Madrid have some thinking to do. Without Modric their midfield is not as dominant with Pirlo and Vidal reall controlling things, and why Benzema is heralded as a striker of any worth is beyond me. Juve, well, it's onward to a date with destiny and what will be their greatest challenge where they will be the only thing stopping another Barcelona treble from taking place.
