Lewandowski is Enough for Poland to be FEARED at Euros

All you need is love....and a striker.

Okay, showing up with a 0-0-1 formation will perhaps not win you many or any games, but with a decent team built around a crazy striker, it is very possible to win anything.

Lewandowski has always been a very good striker since his Dortmund days. Apart from his superb finishing, he came across as a very accomplished footballer simply not content with just hanging around the box. He reminded me of Ronaldo when he came onto the scene. A great finisher who is just as adept with the ball at his feet and was able to create his own goal. Of course, Lewandowski will never come close to the greatness of Ronaldo, nor will any other player for a very long time, but it's a good comparison to draw.

I've stated many times that this is one of the first Euros where anyone can truly win it. The so-called heavy hitters of Germany, Spain and Italy don't impress me that much. They usually raise their game when the competition starts, but as of right now, I'm not feeling them as favorites. There just isn't that really strong team, who are clearly the team that everyone wants to cut down. Now if Germany still had Bart Simpson aka Lahm and Klose, then that's a different story. So this now means that there is a wider net of teams to sneak into the quarters and possibly even the semis, and I'm putting Poland right in the frame of a force that you should watch.

Poland have always been a pretty good team. Not flashy, or amazing; but they're not San Marino or Scunthorpe. They just have never had that one truly exceptional player. Without that, they are always going to either miss out on the knockouts at the last game or get bounced out in the quarters. With Lewandowski, all that changes. What they have is one of the best strikers in the world, and a guy who you can put your hopes on. You can't give the keys to the city to just any footballer, because some just don't have the personality or balls to take up that mantle whilst there are others who are just plain rubbish, and shouldn't even be in the conversation.

There's that arrogant, greedy streak I am seeing in Lewandowski. He understands what it means to be a striker in the olden sense. Too many "strikers" these days are too humble, too selfless, and will look to pass or assist first before getting theirs. Not the case with Lewandowski. When he plays for Bayern, he mixes it up between being giving and trying to get his. But with Poland, where is clearly their best player and the captain, it's ALL about getting every slice of the pie including the crumbs. He knows what his country needs of him, and he is more than happy to accept that responsibility. And he has the talent to be successful at doing so.
